It’s another busy week here at Family First Braille! We are working on our end of the year accounting, which is not the most interesting activity, but it’s definitely important!
We were so blessed yesterday to participate in the Mississippi Vision and Hearing project’s Family Engagement Team meeting. Toni Hollingsworth is working on a questionnaire for parents, to determine their top needs and priorities. One point that stood out to me was that visual impairment doesn’t happen in a vacuum. The other needs of the family continue and it’s important to look at the entire situation. To that end, we will be posting information about resources to help with other assistance as we hear of it. If you’d like to give input and find out more about the questionnaire, please email me and we can talk about it.
To say that 2020 was a crazy year is a wild understatement. We have been trying to figure out the best way to move forward and some things have wandered off schedule. But it’s time to bring things back into order and do what we can do with what we have. So, we are going to continue our Family Grant program, and the grant applications will be due January 8, 2021. We will post more about that but wanted to give you a heads up. The grant applications are on our website, and we look forward to hearing from you.
Happy Holidays!
